II In collaboration with/Mit Unterstützung von Planet Sports
After quite some time of silence in this blog's fashion section, I'm finally back with an outfit post. And it's not about just any outfit, this one is not only featuring a vintage leo print coat but also something I've been rocking for almost 15 years - Converse chucks.
Fun fact: As a young teenager I listened to punk music and died my hair black and blonde (yes, both at the same time, who wants to see pics?) and my wardrobe featured studded belts and bracelets, red plaid skirts, baggy pants and, of course, Converse shoes. I did grow out of this sense of fashion fortunately, but the shoes were allowed to stay. To this day they are the perfect basic pair of shoes to combine with almost any outfit. While Converse has definitely experimented with more daring designs, e.g. in collaboration with Missoni and Maison Margiela, the classic Converse All Stars have hardly changed at all and are still sold in their original form - you can get some pretty nice pairs on sale on Planet Sports, or here. It's actually incredible how these canvas sneakers never really went out of style. The only shoes I can think of that have a comparable cult status are the Adidas Superstars. They're also available on Planet Sports (click here - currently with a 20 percent discount).
For this look, I styled my converse with a chunky knit sweater, a vintage leopard print coat and a pair of shiny vinyl pants in black. Because leopard prints keep coming back every other season, the coat is one of those things that are definitely worth an investment. And it doesn't have to be a huge one either. I bought mine secondhand years ago and I still love it and wear it regularly. Preloved fashion is something I definitely need to consciously buy more often. I had a phase of buying almost exclusively secondhand when I lived in France, but I feel like in Vienna there's little choice. If you have any suggestions for great vintage boutiques, let me know! If you don't own a leo print coat yet, I found a similar one here. I also found lookalikes for my sweater and the vinyl pants, here and here.
Let me know how you liked this look!
