I can't believe it has only been three weeks since I have visited this beautiful secret spot in Upper Austria. Since then, so many things have happened: I moved across the globe, found a new place to live, a new group of friends and I started university a few days ago. I love experiencing all these things, but it's easy to get lost in a whirlwind of events and changes, so sometimes it is important to take a little time out of one's day to sit still, relax and reflect. Looking at photos of this magical day really help me get into a calm state of mind. The river depicted, Ischl, originates in Wolfgangsee and flows back into the Traun, passing through both Salzburg and Upper Austria on its way. It carries pretty cold water and is such an insider's tip on a hot summer day. When all the official bathing areas at the lakes are overcrowded, this spot by the Ischl is serene and peaceful as ever, because only a handful of people know of its existence. We found it by accident, too.
Knowing that I'd be off to the Australian winter soon, I was eager to wear my neon-colored bathing suit at least once this summer. I got it last year and absolutely love the design and the mix of bold patterns. The color is not something I'd usually wear but the elegant cut makes it a piece that is right up my alley. Unfortunately, I don't know where I got it from because of my silly habit of cutting out labels out of all my clothes. However, I've seen beautiful ones being on sale here.
As much as I love bikinis, I think I currently prefer bathing suits, just because they look super classy and are flattering on any body type. While not exactly ideal for tanning, they come with a major advantage: You can pair them with shorts and wear them as an actual outfit! The ones I'm wearing here are just plain denim shorts that I've owned forever. Although the weather in Europe (where I guess most of you live) is apparently really bad, you can still wear this look by combining your bathing suit with regular denim jeans from P&C for example. I'm obsessed with this combo. What do you think?
I really enjoyed this afternoon by the river so much; the scenery was absolutely stunning. So stunning, in fact, that what was supposed to be a laid back day by the water somehow turned into a full-blown photoshoot haha. See more below :)
